More homeowners have entrusted the sale of their Vancouver detached home to Paul Eviston than any other real estate agent in the past 28 years. Paul is one of only two agents in Vancouver to receive the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver’s President’s Club Award for more than 20 years. This award recognizes the top 1% in the industry. Re/Max Worldwide has also recognized Paul with its highest award, the Circle of Legends. He is one of only three Vancouver Re/Max agents to receive this award for residential sales. In addition to these two prestigious awards, Paul has received every other sales award offered by both the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver and Re/Max Worldwide.

Paul’s extensive knowledge, superior negotiating skills and proven ability to obtain winning results has earned him a reputation for the highest standards both in the industry and with clients alike. Says client and friend Billy Smith, Stanley Cup champion, (New York Islanders 1980-1984): “Having won four consecutive Stanley Cup championships I know what it takes to be successful year after year. When I was looking for a REALTOR® I wanted someone who was results oriented and Paul was that.”

Paul’s ability to understand what his clients’ needs are and what is most important to them sets him apart. “We found Paul to be an expert listener which really helped us to all be on the same page throughout the process,” explains Bob and Ruth Glennie. Paul has the uncanny ability to read the market and make recommendations that best suit the client and their home. Clients appreciate Paul’s candid opinions and recommendations. With extensive knowledge in both renovation and new construction, Paul also offers his clients expert advice whether they are considering either renovations or a new build. Paul is also a firm believer in real estate ownership as an investment.

What all this really means to you the consumer is that Paul can help you in every aspect of your real estate journey. His clients rely on him for his knowledge more than anything else. Paul’s advice will help you sell your home sooner and realize your optimal result. In addition to becoming one of the most respected REALTOR®s in the industry for nearly three decades, Paul feels most proud of the job he and his wife Jaina of 24 years have done in raising their family of four boys. Their eldest, Haydn, decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and works alongside his dad in the real estate business. Their two middle sons, Pearce and Bryce, play junior hockey in the Western Hockey League and the B.C. Hockey League. Their youngest son, Quinn, who is going into grade six, is actively involved in the arts and loves to moto-cross and go-cart with his dad. Paul’s years of experience as a husband and father give him a greater understanding of family dynamics and how this affects real estate decisions and timing.

Paul lives with his family in the community where he works and feels strongly about his responsibility to give back to the community that has supported his business for the past 28 years. He has volunteered thousands of hours of his time over the past 20 years coaching minor hockey, little league and soccer. Paul also actively supports the Children’s Miracle Network and has made significant donations to the schools in the community. Paul is very passionate about the real estate business and enjoys his work immensely. He enjoys meeting the daily challenges and the wonderful cross section of people he encounters. Paul has mentored countless new agents and assistants throughout the years. He has served on committees at the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver and also served in an advisory role on various industry panels.

I moved to Vancouver in 1980 to attend UBC, and I’ve been here ever since. After getting my B. Com., I went on to a successful career in electronics retail and marketing, serving asvice-president for two national chains and ultimately operating a store of my own, Sound Plus.

I also got married and started family. We settled in Main/Cambie, where my wife and I and our two youngest children still live today. We love the neighbourhood because it’s close to downtown and even closer to Hillcrest, Riley, and Queen Elizabeth parks.

With a strongin sales and client relations, becoming a REALTOR® in February 2014 was a natural transition for me. The skills I developed inretail and marketing have helped me excel in real estate: I’m friendly and easy to talk to; I take the time to find outwhat my customers want; and Igo the extra mile to help them get it. Also, I think my commitment to family and community helps me understandthe things people are looking for in a home and in a neighbourhood. There is no denying that Vancouver has much to offer families, and each neighbourhood has it’s own special flavour. Our family loves that we have access to so many of the amenities and neighbourhoods that make this city great. Indeed, regardless of which area our clients find they prefer to settle into, they quickly find that everything they want or need is readily accessible and that this, in itself, is a beautiful thing.

When I’m not making customers happy, I enjoy time with my family, wine and food, travel, volunteering, books, and film.

Haydn Eviston

REALTOR®

Paul Eviston is my dad. So being a REALTOR® is more than just a job to me: it means continuing the Eviston tradition of excellence in the Vancouver real estate industry.

I’ve been part of the industry practically my whole life. As a kid, I would tag along with my dad when he did open houses on the weekend. In 2010, I joined the Eviston team as an assistant. Three years later I got my real estate licence—a veteran at age 22.

I have a solid grasp of all aspects of the job, but the aspect I enjoy most is client care, and home tours in particular; I’m a showing specialist. Working with new home buyers also gives me a special satisfaction because I hope to be one myself in the not-too-distant future.

Ironically for a guy who sells houses for a living, my favourite place to be is outside. One of the reasons I love Vancouver is that it offers allthe amenities of the city and easy access to outdoor activities. In my case, those activities include hiking, camping, fishing, and riding my motorcycle.

I was born and raised in Vancouver, and the city has captivated me my entire life. Growing up near Douglas Park, I watched Vancouver transform itself over the last 25 years into the unique city that it is today. And growing up in a large family, I not only got to experience everything Vancouver has to offer, but I did so surrounded by people who instilled in me a strong sense of family values.

In 2011, I started my post-secondary education at Simon Fraser, then transitioned to the Sauder School of Business after deciding to follow my true passion, which is this city and its people. In 2013 I became a REALTOR® and joined my uncle Paul Eviston’s team.

Since then I’ve taken part in over 350 real estate transactions. I’m in charge of the administration work for the team, while also being a buyers specialist. I love doing open houses and meeting new people. I’m dedicated to my clients, and I ensure that they stay on top of the constantly changing Vancouver market.

Outside of work, I am a proud new uncle, part-time dog sitter and avid soccer enthusiast. You can catch me playing on local recreation teams, or cheering on the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place!

Blake Hilts

REALTOR®

The path that led me to become a REALTOR® in Vancouver starts in Waterloo, Ontario. My family owns an interior design studio there, and I worked at the studio from the ages of 11 to 25. I learned about home design, customer service, and plain old hard work—a good foundation for a career in residential real estate.

Then in 2010, with a B.Comm.under my belt, I moved to Vancouver. After working at the 2010 Olympics and Paralympics, I went on to do brand awareness marketing for such companies as Coca-Cola, Kraft Canada, and Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (a special thrill for me as a Toronto Raptors fan.)

Meanwhile, I fell in love with the city. I enjoy Vancouver’s outdoor, active lifestyle. I’m proud of the fact that we’re on pace to be the greenest city in the world by 2020. And since Waterloo is on the snowbelt and our house had a big driveway, I’m grateful that rain shovels itself.

I became a REALTOR® in the spring 2013 market. It’s a job that brings together my passion for Vancouver with the whole skill set I’ve developed over the years. I enjoy working with clients and taking them on tours, whether they’re first-time buyers or downsizers. I also enjoy using my number-crunching and marketing skills to make sure that my clients get the best deal.
